Standard bags use the filter mesh as the outer surface. Every scrape against a pool floor degrades the filtration. We built around that.

Double-layer mesh. An outer protective mesh sized larger than the inner filter takes the scrapes from pool walls and floors. The inner filter mesh stays clean and keeps doing its job. Standard single-layer bags degrade their own filtration every time they touch a wall.
The 3mm leaf bag is the one exception: it runs a single layer of heavy 3mm mesh, because bulk debris needs flow, not filtration.
